Keith Apping Highlights soundtrack by Dot

Saturday i went to see my cousin Sherron Dorsey-Walker play in the "Michigan Mr. Basketball Showdown" between Keith Appling(Detroit Pershing) vs Ray McCullam(Detroit Country Day) at Lansing Eastern High School. . . . . . Past Pershing stars Steve Smith and Willie Mitchell were on hand to catch the game along with past NBA pros Mateen Cleaves, Jermaine Jackson, future stars of MSU, both Detroit and Lansing natives, and many many scouts and coaches. Country Day defeated Pershing 81-72 in a very good game i might add. The first half was all bad for Pershing going down by 17 with Appling having 7 along with sophomore standout . Coach A.W. Canada(known as Dub in the hood) regrouped his players and relied on defense as usual to stop the bleeding. The third quarter was one for the ages for myself, alot of my hop buddies growing up and fellow Pershing Alum. Appling showed tuff defense, deadly shooting and smooth dribbling and ball handling. McCullam along with alot of help from his teammates scored 10 straight points in the 3rd also. Even though the Doughboys got the lead down 5 in the fourth quarter Country Day slowed the game down just at the right time and tightend up on defense to cut the comeback and ultimightly hold them off for the win. . . . All in all it was a great game i got some highlights i recorded that i will upload in a while so you can see it from my point of view, signing off Dot. . . .
