Burton x Adidas Originals-Capsule Collection

The great outdoor has never been this vibrant.  Introducing adidas Originals’ latest project, a collaboration with snowboard giant Burton, the limited collection for Fall/Winter 2010 is one of utilitarian aesthetics. A key question addressed was how to fill that transition period between a wild run on the slope and restful recoup time in the lounge. Certainly, this partnership was the solution. As adidas Originals Vice President, Ben Pruess, recently stated “Burton was the one and only choice for us when we decided to transform our product from the street to the slopes.”
With a wide range of talents, design fundamentals, and raw materials at their disposal, the creative teams from both companies had the perfect synergy, with enough room to explore the possibilities.  The result, a collection of 21 apparel models and 7 footwear, all centralized on functionalities on or off the slope, as with this ¾ length parka.  Constructed from water resistant microfiber, the parka comprised seamless zipper enclosures and over-sized buttons for gloved hands.  In addition, vents at key points for temperature and humidity regulation.  On the interior, a satin lining as well as a stand alone vest that doubled as insulation for the jacket, both in emergency orange which punctuated the muted, earth-tone colorways.  And once again, the ideal solution for the transition mentioned earlier.
The Burton x adidas Originals Capsule Collection will be available at select retail locations starting in August, perfectly timed for the arrival of Fall and Winter.
